Yoga is a great way for bringing mother and child together – my first yogic experience was trying to stand on one leg while my mum did tree pose. I’ve been practicing yoga asana (postures) regularly for 15 years. I trained to be a hatha yoga teacher at Triyoga and hold a British Wheel of Yoga diploma. Since becoming pregnant with my second child I trained in the Sitaram pregnancy tradition which uses breath, visualisation and yoga asana to help women remain calm, centred and healthy during pregnancy, birth and the post-natal period. I also trained to teach post-natal yoga with Birthlight, giving me a complete overview of natal yoga and an understanding of the transformation which occurs in a woman’s body and mind during the birthing process.
Yoga might be thousands of years old but I’m not – follow me on Twitter.
